I cannot stress how emphatically I agree with the idea that students must shake off other people's perceptions to come to hear their true creative voice. It is precisely for this reason that I have endeavored to become a creative writer and a teacher to pass such liberating and explorative concepts to students in high school. I feel that the dichotomatic nature of the intelligent and intellectual writer must be identified and embraced and allowed to exist to allow said nature to mediate the creative genius of the writer.
